My Story
I took my 20s to heal instead of to numb. This is the path back to myself — and an invitation to walk your own.

For the women of my lineage
I made this workbook, my poetry, my album — all of it — as a legacy in dedication to the women of my ancestral lineage. This is how I heal the inter-generational trauma transmission: through freedom & expression, handing something brighter forward.
My mother & my grandmothers were bold, relentless, brave women. But they came up in an immensely patriarchal world — one that shamed a woman's softness and silenced her spirit — and they just had so much pain to process. I knew I had to take it to the next level and do everything I could to clear the path for my daughter, so she could truly feel her beauty. She is the light of my life, alongside the music.

My oracle story, set to sound — growing your own garden of love.

135 pages of poems — for the healing of our lineage.
I was 17, moving to San Francisco, wildly unaware of all the love I was about to create inside myself
I had just seen Stevie Nicks in concert and solidified my dream of traveling the world to perform. But I felt I had this massive void — an incapability — and was deeply tortured by trauma I didn't even know I had.
I would spend the next ten years of my life unraveling the falsehood narrative that wired my every step, thought, nervous system & world. That pre-verbal attachment wound hit different. I know now my life has been cultivated by my sense of beauty and destruction — and because of that, everything inside of me and around me has become brighter.

We must always tell ourselves, and our loved ones, the naked truth.

Naked and afraid, over and over, I created new space inside myself
Through the making of this work I was rejected again and again — by those I was attracted to, by communities of artists, by spaces I felt I belonged in. So what did I do? I held groups for self-vocalization & play. I sang where no one paid attention. I gave myself the love I so desperately wanted to receive from outside of me.
At 22 I had a home birth — and learned reparenting in the most direct way there is. Navigating a rocky relationship with her father, I taught myself basic self-sufficiency along the way: how to hold steady, how to provide, how to soften. Becoming my daughter's mother taught me how to mother the child still inside me.
Slowly but surely, opportunities in alignment with that love began to arise. The more love, time, space & attention I gave myself, the more beauty I was surrounded by.
My why is elemental balance
All the forces in me want to dance with the flame, swim in all the oceans, fly in the wind, be enlivened by the sun's reflection & incorporate every lesson here on Mother Earth. I want to start a new 27 club — and it's about taking your 20s to heal instead of to numb.
My sign — the moment I touch water, my magma turns to stone. This is my making process.
Trusting the flow. The best change happens little by little, over magnificent years spent in effort — I surrender to the process.
Fly in the wind. The breath is the gateway to spirit & a settled nervous system.
Growing my own garden of love & giving everything I have to my passion.
Enlivened by the sun's reflection — divine playfulness, imagination & the spirit moving through it all.

Had I never gone seeking — uncovering the wisdom buried under all that pain — I would never have set myself free to make this art, to delight in my family, or to bloom into the mom, aunt, community teacher, magical fairy, artist & woman I so needed as a child.
Eventually I am led back here, as we all are, to ourselves & our inner nature.
I will continue to create space for those carving their own path — unpaved by their generational lineage.
